If you find this box, please post! My sister and I spent a long time driving
back and forth on the street and couldn't find a building meeting the
description! Perhaps we're just not observant enough!

Hello,
We wanted to check out the Third Rock from the Sun letterbox in Old
Saybrook, CT before it is retired on Oct. 15th. Based on the clues it sounds
as if the place is only open during the week. Could someone please let me
know if it is open on Saturdays this time of year. Thanks for your help.

I believe they will be open tomorrow, the 5th, from 8am to 4pm .
Hope you can make it!

I went there today and never did find the right spot!  I guess I'll never get that stamp.  But I did find 11 others on the way back to Hartford area.

Wahhhh!!!!! - they're shut Sat & Sun. (sob sob)
I could even see the box thru the front window. For a moment
we considered breaking & entering but decided to take a rather long
detour on the way to work next week so we could savor some of their
goodies too (hours are 7am-4pm according to the note on the front
door). What a shame they're closing.

CTferret and I tried to get this box today as well. I was really sad
that we found the place and it was closed. We're going to call and see
if it will be open Columbus day.

Beth and I (Mike) went there on Saturday as well to find the place
closed and the box quite visible through the window. Breaking and
entering was also not a distant thought for us. But we took a bit of a
detour to Harkness Memorial State Park, a beautiful place neither of us
even knew existed, to find four letterboxes there, and a surprise
meeting with Sandy, Joe and Sky. It was really neat to run across fellow
letterboxers on the hunt.

Success!! Took a 60 minute detour on the way to work this morning to finally score this box + a big bag of scrummy muffins!
